Digimation Awarded GSA Schedule Contract
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – April 17, 2023 – Digimation, a leading provider of training and simulation systems for law enforcement, announced today that they are now approved to bid and sell with the United States Government through the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).
GSA Schedule contracts contain predetermined terms and conditions (like pricing, delivery terms, and warranties) that simplify purchasing for government employees. With this approval, Digimation can offer products and services as a prime contractor, eliminating the need for a bridging party. This makes it easier than ever for government agencies to purchase the DART training simulator and related accessories. To qualify for GSA approval, an organization must complete a rigorous application process and have a proven track record within its industry.
“We are proud to have been awarded this contract,” said David Avgikos, President of Digimation. “This streamlines the process of working with the government and will help provide local, state, and federal agencies greater access to our cutting-edge training tools that can help their personnel improve their shooting skills and tactical decision-making abilities.”
The DART training simulator is designed to be portable, easy to use, and affordable, making it an ideal solution for agencies that may have limited resources or need to train personnel in multiple locations. The simulator uses advanced technology to simulate realistic scenarios and provide feedback to users, helping them develop the skills they need to perform their duties safely and effectively.

U.S. Army Purchases 28 Systems to Be Used Across Multiple Locations
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – October 26, 2022 – Digimation, an innovator in 3D virtual training and simulation, today announced it has received a purchase order from the U.S. Army for 28 of its highly portable and versatile DART firearm training simulators. The Army intends to use the systems at several bases including Fort Polk, Louisiana; Fort Drum, New York; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Bliss, Texas; and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, to train soldiers in firearms handling, marksmanship, and safety.
The DART system, at just six inches wide by four inches tall by five inches deep, is the most portable firearms simulator available and can be set up and used in virtually any location. The system’s portability keeps training within easy reach of soldiers making it convenient to train often. Yet, despite its small size, DART is feature-rich and includes capabilities not found on any other platform.
“The Army is moving away from large, expensive firearms training systems because they don’t provide the accessibility and throughput of DART and can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars more,” said David Avgikos, president of Digimation. “The fact that they evaluated virtually every similar system out there and purchased ours speaks for itself.”
The Army added DART Studio authoring software for each system it purchased underlining its need for enhanced tools that allow every aspect of a course or drill to be customized.
“DART Studio is another significant advantage of the DART system”, said Brian Gaynor, director of training for Digimation. “Gone are the days of practicing with static targets. DART Studio allows the creation of courseware and drills with intelligent, moving targets capable of interacting with the shooter without intervention from the instructor.”
One of the reasons the Army purchased the DART system is its need to train soldiers with no firearm experience, said Avgikos. DART Trace rifles, which were also part of the order, are able to track a trainee’s aim through all phases of a shot: target acquisition, trigger pull, and follow-through. Once a shot is made, the aim point can be replayed in real-time and used to diagnose possible problems for each trainee.
“Our team has been in close contact with personnel at the Army bases that will be implementing DART, and we’re excited to be a part of their firearms training initiative,” said Avgikos. “We think this will be the first of many orders from the Army, and we look forward to the possibility of working with other branches of the military as well.”

DART Releases New Version of DART Range™
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – August 26, 2022 – Digimation, a leading provider of training and simulation systems, today released a powerful new version of DART Range, its firearms training simulator for law enforcement and professional instructors. This release extends the powerful training capabilities of DART with improved practice sessions, a new streamlined user interface, several new course creation tools, and the addition of video sequences.
Improved Practice Sessions
Practice sessions in DART Range now offer 1 and 2-lane options, improved graphics, the ability to change environments, time of day settings, and more.
Streamlined Interface
A lot of work went into making it even easier to create courses of fire within DART. Motion commands, which are used to move targets, people, and objects around the scene, have been greatly simplified making course creation even faster.
New Course Creation Tools
Because DART uses interactive 3D graphics instead of pre-recorded video clips, courses and scenarios can be easily changed and programmed to respond to actions by the trainee. DART 4 features several new tools to make your courses more dynamic and unpredictable. Special branching behaviors have been added to move your course from stage to stage based on user-definable events.
Video Sequences
In simulation applications, interactive 3D graphics offer many advantages over video-based systems. However, video targets can offer a high level of realism. DART 4 supports video targets while retaining the advantages of a full 3D system. In an industry first, DART can integrate video directly into realistic 3D environments, allowing a combination of video and 3D people, targets, and objects in one course.
“Our latest release demonstrates our continued commitment to improving simulation training,” said David Avgikos, President of Digimation. “DART 4 includes several additional program enhancements designed to make training time more productive and meaningful; whether it’s working with a new shooter, use of force training, or marksmanship practice.”
Price and Availability
DART 4 is available now. Upgrades from previous versions are available free of charge. Existing customers can contact DART for more information.

I’m excited to bring this unique approach to agencies and departments across the country.”
“As capable as the DART system is, it’s only part of the solution,” said David Avgikos, President of DART. “Turnkey simulation training requires a powerful simulator and world-class instruction. DART Training Academy offers a unique approach to law enforcement training by providing individual training modules consisting of video instruction and customized drills designed to focus on specific real-world learning objectives. And because they work with the DART system, they’re accessible to departments of any size.”

DART Introduces DART Experience™ Included with New DART 3.6 Update
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – April 14, 2020 – DART, a leading provider of training and simulation systems, today announced the release of DART Range 3.6, an update to its firearms training simulator for law enforcement and professional firearms instructors. This release features the new DART Experience module and includes additional program enhancements.
DART Experience allows the DART firearms simulator to be used as a training tool for potential recruits, civilian, or youth groups. “Many of the departments using DART work with Explorer and citizen groups,” said David Avgikos, President of DART. “The new DART Experience module provides an extremely easy way to experience shooting a firearm in a completely safe environment and promotes discussions about how and why police officers are required to respond in a specific way.”
Originally developed for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library as part of their FBI exhibit, DART Experience completely automates running courses of fire for one or two shooters – even providing after action review – without intervention from a system administrator.
In addition, DART Range 3.6 offers support for training weapons using simulated electric and gas recoil. “In the last year, we’ve seen leading firearm manufacturers such as GLOCK and SIG SAUER begin licensing their designs and developing premium airsoft training weapons,” said David Avgikos. “These new training weapons are realistic and affordable, and the perfect complement to DART.”

DART Issues Statement on Operations During COVID-19
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – March 23, 2020 – DART issued the following statement regarding its operations and the COVID-19 virus.
DART takes the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously and is closely monitoring the situation. The safety of our employees, along with a commitment to meet our customers’ needs, are our highest priorities. Following the latest state and CDC guidelines, DART team members are working from home however, we remain fully operational, and continue to demonstrate, ship and support our products during this unprecedented period.
DART pioneered online demonstrations for its simulator systems years ago, which has allowed us to demo our products at a moment’s notice to police departments anywhere in the country. Once a demo is completed, a recorded version can be downloaded and given to anyone in the department. This has proven to be very helpful to departments that have had to lock down their facilities.
In fact, we believe that the current environment makes firearm training with DART Range an even better decision – especially considering the high cost and limited availability of ammunition coupled with the difficulty of training at the range.
As a small business dedicated to supporting law enforcement, we appreciate your continued service as we all do our best to navigate these challenges. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us via email at [email protected] or call (407) 833-0600. We will continue to closely monitor the situation. Stay safe and healthy.

DART Releases Update to DART Range™
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – February 25, 2020 – DART, a leading provider of training and simulation systems, today announced the immediate availability of DART Range 3.2, an update to its firearms training simulator for law enforcement and professional firearms instructors. This update offers several enhancements suggested by existing DART users including:
DART Trace – our aim tracking software, DART Trace, is now built-in to DART Range. DART Trace tracks the movement of a firearm during all phases of a shot: target acquisition, aim, trigger pull, and follow through. Once a shot is made, the shooter’s aim point can be replayed in real-time along with various data points, which can be used to analyze shooting performance. The Trace function requires a specialized laser training weapon that is available separately.
New Practice Menu – now you can quickly set parameters for practice sessions including target type, target distance, time allowed, shots allowed, and a countdown timer. This makes it very easy to start the program and begin a customized practice session without the need for creating or loading courses. In addition, practice sessions now offer After Action Review to review shot placement and timing.
Improved After Action Review – the After Action Review screen now allows you to zoom into a target which makes it easier to see precise shot placement – especially when shots are tightly grouped together.
Pricing and Availability
DART Range 3.2 is available now at no charge to existing DART owners and will ship with all new orders beginning today.

DART Announces Update to DART Range™
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – January 31, 2020 – DART, a leading provider of training and simulation systems, today announced the upcoming release of DART Range 3.2, an update to its firearms training simulator for law enforcement and professional firearms instructors. This brings several enhancements, fixes, and improvements to the program including:
DART Trace – our aim tracking software, DART Trace, is now built-in to DART Range. DART Trace tracks the movement of a firearm during all phases of a shot: target acquisition, aim, trigger pull, and follow through. Once a shot is made, the shooter’s aim point can be replayed in real-time along with various data points, which can be used to analyze shooting performance. The Trace function requires a specialized laser training weapon which is available separately.
Side Target Menus – DART has always used shootable side target menu options on the left side of the screen to change target distance, zoom into a target, and reset a practice course. Now that menu can be toggled to be on the left side or right side of the screen – or turned off completely. This makes using the target menu easy for left and right-handed shooters.
Improved After Action Review – the After Action Review screen now allows you to zoom into a target which makes it easier to see precise shot placement – especially when shots are tightly grouped together.
New Sight Alignment – if the aim on a laser training device is off, DART Range can compensate so that the correct aim is achieved. In previous versions of the software, this process included several steps. Now proper sight alignment is achieved by simply firing three rounds at the center of the target.
Pricing and Availability
DART Range 3.2 will be available in February 2020 at no charge to existing owners of DART Range.

DART Releases New Version of DART Range™ Featuring 3D Human Characters
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – November 12, 2019 – DART, a leading provider of training and simulation systems, today released a powerful new version of DART Range, its firearms training simulator for law enforcement and professional firearms instructors. This release of DART Range breaks new ground by being the first firearms simulator system to offer realistic, controllable 3D people and environments.
“This new release of DART Range is our most ambitious yet,” said David Avgikos, President of DART. “DART uses the latest 3D technology to simulate realistic targets, environments, and people – who not only look real, they move realistically. This opens up training possibilities unmatched by flat ranges and 2D video-based simulators.”
Current methods of firearms training can leave police officers unprepared because they involve infrequent sessions that are soon over. This approach does not promote long-term learning or skill retention, which numerous studies show require frequent training done regularly and consistently over time. The new DART Range provides a training platform that is practical enough to use daily/weekly, and capable of supporting training in a wide variety of critical skills.
Pricing and Availability
The new version of the DART system is available now. Upgrades from previous versions are available free of charge to all existing owners of DART Range.

DART Demonstrates New DART Range™ Version 3 at IACP Conference
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – October 15, 2019 – DART, a leading provider of training and simulation systems for law enforcement, today announced that it will demonstrate the new version of DART Range, its firearms training simulator, at the upcoming IACP Conference on October 26-29, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois.
Since its release in 2017, DART Range has become a preferred firearms training solution for law enforcement by setting new standards in the areas of portability, affordability, and ease of use. DART Range 3 breaks new ground by being the first firearms simulator system to offer realistic, controllable 3D people and environments.
“Firearms simulators have traditionally relied on 2D video movies to help teach and practice firearms skills,” said David Avgikos, President of DART. “These simulations look real, but do not move realistically. People and environments are difficult or impossible to alter without reshooting video, and the whole process of creating courses is difficult and expensive. DART Range uses interactive 3D technology to overcome the limitations of video. The result is a truly affordable firearms simulator that promotes frequent and intense training, which is critical in skill development and mastery.”
Pricing and Availability
DART Range 3 will be available as a software upgrade in November 2019. The upgrade will be offered for free to all existing owners of DART Range.

DART Announces Major 3D Enhancements to DART Range™
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – September 3, 2019 – DART, a leading provider of training and simulation systems for law enforcement, announced early details for DART 3.0 – the upcoming version of its firearms training simulator. The update focuses on major 3D enhancements to the program designed to facilitate effective firearms training, including:
- 3D People – courses of fire can include realistic humans that move and behave in precise or unpredictable ways.
- 3D Props – load and position realistic props such as rooms, walls, and objects to recreate real world settings or environments designed to help teach specific principles.
- Enhanced 3D Lighting – accurately simulate nighttime and other low-light scenarios.
“For more than twenty years, simulators have been restricted by the limitations of 2D video movies which have been used to teach and practice firearms skills,” said David Avgikos, President of DART. “As a result, people in these simulations look real, but do not move realistically. Environments and lighting can’t be altered without reshooting video, and the process of creating courses of fire remains complex and expensive. With DART 3, we’re using our expertise in 3D technology to overcome these limitations and in some ways even surpass the realism of video. The result is a truly affordable firearms simulator that promotes frequent and intense training, which is critical in skill development and mastery.”
Pricing and Availability
DART 3.0 will be available as a software upgrade in Q4 2019. The upgrade will be offered for free to all existing DART customers. More information will be available on https://dartrange.com as the release date approaches.

DART Announces DART Studio™Course of Fire Authoring Tool
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – February 21, 2019 – DART, a leading provider of training and simulation systems for law enforcement, today announced the upcoming release of DART Studio, the latest addition to its growing line of firearms simulation products.
All DART systems include the ability to create basic courses of fire with DART Creator, such as state qualification courses or those you may find on a live-fire range. DART Studio substantially increases those capabilities by making it possible to create, edit, and train with expanded courses and scenarios which can be customized to fit your agency’s specific training objectives.
“Our goal has always been to make powerful and effective training accessible to law enforcement agencies of any size,” said David Avgikos, President of DART. “DART Studio is a critical component of that commitment because it simplifies the process of creating sophisticated training courses and curricula beyond basic qualification, which are an important part of a department’s overall firearms training program.”
Features
DART Studio is capable of creating courses of fire that include up to ten targets per stage – each with its own unique paths, actions, and behaviors. Additional features allow video and audio to be embedded into courses to provide a high level of training. This is important since DART does not require a separate training administrator to execute a training scenario.

DART Releases DART Range™ Demonstration Video
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – May 1, 2018 – DART, a leading provider of training and simulation systems for law enforcement, announced the production of a video discussing some of the features that make the DART firearms training simulator such a valuable tool for law enforcement.
The video features interviews with active as well as retired officers who examine DART from the perspective of a police chief, master trainer, and sergeant. Portions of the video were filmed during a firearms training course in which DART was used to practice advanced concepts and tactics.
“Administrators look at training as very expensive to the department, so the biggest challenge for me is always how do I get the most training for the least amount of money,” said Richard Rippy, a 30-year police veteran and range master. “Using DART, the fundamentals get emphasized more. The performance is going to be better on the flat range, which will allow them to progress their training to a different level – and the cost is well within the means of my department.”
The video can be viewed on the home page of dartrange.com.

DART and Setcan Announce the OTX Flashbox™ Accessory for DART Range™
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – January 23, 2018 – DART, a leading provider of training and simulation systems for law enforcement, today announced the OTX Flashbox developed by Setcan.
The OTX Flashbox includes a sensor belt and free-standing flashbox which connects directly to the DART simulator. Based on user-definable events, the flashbox will activate the sensor belt letting the wearer know that they have been “hit” in the simulation.
“Most trainers refer to getting off the X as a tactical strategy involving moving from a static position so that you do not become an easy target in a gunfight,” said Jeff Quail, President of Setcan. “It’s one of the hardest skills to train on a range for several reasons. First, safety parameters typically restrict how much movement can occur. Second, movement tends to be trivial as the shooter has an overriding desire to stabilize their platform for the perfect shot. In essence, they cheat because they have not acquired the skills to move and shoot.”
Features
The OTX Flashbox provides feedback when a student has not moved off the “X”. It also insures that the student moves at least one full body position away from the previous location. In cases where the trainer wants to practice speed and accuracy, the OTX Flasbox can deliver a room-wide flash that will activate the belt whether the student moves or not. The student can deactivate the flash by hitting the target in a user-defined area within a set amount of time.
Pricing and Availability
OTX Flashbox will be available in Q2 2018 through DART and Setcan. Pricing will be announced as the product nears delivery.
